Outdoor Education
GS-West brings many special activities and outdoor opportunities to its members.

Round Up: For Cadette & Senior Levels of Girl Scouts. The cost is $15 per person and it is a troop camping event to learn skills at Saturday morning workshops, and then test those skills in challenge events in the afternoon. Examples include fire building, knot tying, first aid, chariot lashing, art, creative writing, and cook-off. "Super Troop" status will be awarded to one Cadette troop and to one Senior troop based on girl and adult participation, challenges and placements. Troops are encouraged to tent camp.
Council Wide: For Juniors, Cadettes and Seniors in Girl Scouts. It costs $15 per person and has a similar setup to the annual Round Up event. Troops learn skills to apply during the weekend campout.
Soccer -- Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma received a grant in 2008 to fund a soccer team made up entirely of Girl Scouts from the OKC metro area. The team is comprised of Girl Scout members who attend the Boys & Girls Club In-School program at Oklahoma City Memorial Park. The program was started through a $5,000 grant from the Women's Sports Foundation. For more information on Girl Scouts Soccer Team, contact Gordon Alemao at galemao@gswestok.org
