Learn the Art of Telling A Story

October 19th, 2013 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Date: Saturday, October 19, 2013

Time: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Place: Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History

Join Kevin Carroll, author of What's Your Red Rubber Ball?! and creator of the exhibit The Art of Sport and Play, will work with participants to learn the power of authentic storytelling. Participants also will have the opportunity to develop a story based on their personal experiences.

The workshop is in conjunction with Carroll’s first exhibition, a personal look at selected pieces of memorabilia gathered from his travels around the world. The heart of the collection is a group of handcrafted balls, created by children with found materials from their native lands. Sponsored by the University of Oklahoma Division of Student Affairs and Sooner Parents, The Art of Sport + Play tells a story about the universal power of sport.

The cost for the workshop is $15 for members, $25 for non-members. Advance registration is required, and space is limited. To enroll, please call (405) 325-1008.

The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is located on the OU Norman campus at Timberdell Road and Chautauqua Avenue.

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors 65 and up, and $3 for youth ages 6 to 17. Children ages 5 and under are admitted free. Discounts are available for military personnel and their immediate families. For accommodations on the basis of disability, call (405) 325-4712.
